Hi - I just had a tummy tuck done in July, and although I hear that some doctors are offering them at the same time as your C-section, I would think it is better to wait.
I use to be an aerobics instructor, and then I had twins 3 years ago. I was SO OVERSTRETCHED, that the skin around my stomach lost it's elasticity, and I had a "pouch." Even when I got back down to my pre-pregnancy weight, people were asking me when I was due!!!! I did diet and exercise. Nothing worked because my skin was over-stretched. Kinda like those people who have massive weight loss after gastric bypass....their skin just hangs.
So, I opted to have a tummy tuck and hip liposuction, and I am very happy with my whole experience. But, if I could have done it naturally (just diet and exercise) that would have been a better option, because tummy tucks are expensive and the recovery time is at least 2 weeks.
So, let yourself recover from your pregnancy. Give it time. If you can get back to where you want to be on your own, that is the best option. If after diet and exercise you realize your skin is overstretched, THEN consult a plastic surgeon. Hope this helps!

I actually know someone who had this done, so yes, it is possible. You will have to contract two separate doctors, however, as your OB/GYN will not be able to perform the tummy tuck, and you'll have to dole out a ton of cash, as the tummy tuck is not covered (but it'll be less than doing a tummy tuck otherwise, since the anesthesia and all that will already be in place for the C-Section!). But talk to your doctor, get a referral, and go for it, if you want to do it!

Do you want to do this because of media-related pressure to be thin again after giving birth? I'm sorry, but I really feel strongly against this. You will have just given birth, expect your body to be different and embrace it. You;ll return to pre-pregnancy weight soon enough.
Personally, I think you should stay away from all forms of surgery unless absolutely essential. Why are you having a c-section anyway? Is it elective, or have you been told that you have to for the health of your baby?
I don't think that you should want to be recovering from major surgery as well as dealing with a new born who will need his/her mom on demand for quite a while. How would you feel if you needed you needed your mom just after you were born, so you were letting out that 'come to me now' cry that babies are so good at, but your mom said 'sorry, i can't pick you up now because I'm still too sore from my needless tummy tuck operation'?
But if you really want to do this, are you considering breast augmentation too? Because they're also going to change from becoming a mom.
However, if your not actually pregnant and considering doing this, and are just asking out of curiosity, I apologise for going off on one like that, it's just a pet hate of mine that women are under pressure to resemble stick insects seconds after giving birth.

after 6 months you can get it done, see if you are going for the surgical treatment of tuck..then you wont be able to conceive again, so make sure you get the complete info before you go for it.
