Why is that so important? What if you've never slept with anyone yet? What if you slept with a different person per day for 365 days out of the year? What differents does it make?

OK, what if you slept with one person more than once, but then you stopped and haven't slept with anyone since then in almost ten years?

It's because guys are insecure. They need to know how many people you've slept for them to make a decision. If the number is too many they would probably won't take you seriously (this is some guys) or they just might leave you around because it's intimidating to be with someone who has slept with so many people.

I doesn't make any difference, but that's the value society in general places upon your sexual history.

I think that they want to know how experienced you are and how experienced they should act or be to satisfy your needs.

If you've been with a lot of guy's, they will feel intimidated and they would like to know why and how and who?

I don't like that - all he needs to know is that you don't have and STD or HIV and that you love him - if you love him it doesn't matter how many people you've slept with - he's the only one you want to be with and if you stay commited and true to him - it will all work out! - He doesn't have to know everything because you'll only hurt him!

STDS

if you have slept with more than 3 people you have an 80% chance of having a STD

They want to know how experienced you are. And they want to know if you've had fewer or more partners than them.

Do not give them the exact #. A lot of times, it will hurt them or it will make you uncomfortable. You can say something like more than 10 or less than 10.

When I was growing up, I was taught that one's sex life is none of your business. However, thanks to all the diseases in the world including HIV, now it may be prudent to ask a potential date how many people they have slept with. When dating someone, he or she may be a potential sexual partner. They want to know if they are bringing any potential disease in bed with them. In turn, you ask them how many people they have slept with.

They also want to know what kind of person are you. Are you a cheap lay? What are your moral values? That sort of thing.

They may not be asking for the right reasons.

You should be asking too. You need to know how many other people you're sleeping with, because you sleep with everybody your sex partner has ever slept with.

At least use a condom.

guys want to know how experienced you are. they dont want to be with a girl who has slept with more people then they have cos it intimidates them. most guys see it as the less people, the more likely that i will be the one that can please her and that she hasnt had anyone better them me. also guys dont like the thought of the girl they are with having been with other guys. hope this helped explain a few things!

For several reasons: they want to know how experienced you are sexually, they want to know what the changes are that you have an STD and they want to know how many guys you will be comparing their sexual performance to. Some guys want a virgin, but a lot of guys want a woman who knows what she is doing, so it does make a difference!

well for women all women lie on this one
so men figure the curve for it as well knowing this
they just want to know what type of whore you are
as too much means they have sex with you
but won't necessarily commit long term
it also indicated what type of person you are if you give up to a lot of men

It really doesn't make a difference. They are entitled to know if you're healthy though. Just tell them it's none of their business. They can ask, you don't need to answer.
