I hope so!
I am Lebanese & I want the disarmament of Hizbollah as much as anyone does. But I believe that killing innocent people (on either side) and distroying a whole country is not the answer. It can be done thru the joint efforts of the Lebanese Government & the International Community.
This war has killed more people who have nothing to do with Hizbollah, and so many who are against them than it has actual Hizbollah members. It has thrown a country who had been struggling to rise from the ashes of a 15 year old war (and had actually crossed more than half the road), back to the stone age.
Lebanon is so much more than people are led to believe by the monopolizing media. Ask anyone who has been there. It is a beautiful, tolerant, democratic country that is paying the price for one party from just one of 18 sects within it, that has become stronger than the army through foreign decisions.
It just amazes me how so many people in these & other forums claim to know anything! You want to have a clear idea? Do some research & stop watching stereotyped channels! Lebanon is NOT Hizbollah. It is the only country in the Middle East that has a Christian president, it is multi-sectarial and multi-cultural. Militarywiccan, you said that you will only believe we're not all terrorists if we start opposing Hizbollah... Well, what channels are you tuned to??? Change them & you will see just that! Huge political opposition. But to oppose them with arms, now that you will not see. And that my friend, ironically, due to the fact that following a green light from the US, Syria (a much bigger & stronger force) controlled Lebanon from 1989 to 2005 and did not allow the Lebanese Army to gather strength. They were finally thrown out last year.
All we want is to live in peace and prosperity, to have the right to dream, just like the next person, and the right to believe we can achieve that dream. We do not want Hizbollah or Israel in control of any part of the country.

In my opinion there will be no real cease fire until as you say Hezbollah is taken care of, everyone knows that Iran backs Hezbollah so the chances Of alleviating the problems that Hezbollah create are non existent.

no for the same reason it all started Lebanon can't control its own country. Isreal has stopped and what will happen is Hezbollah will attack and isreal will start the a$$ beating again. The people of Lebanon need to move against them. That or isreal will kill them all either way they deserve it. The only way i will ever admit that the people of lebanon aren't all terrorists is when they start opposing terrorists.

Not to be indelicate, but the war won't stop for long. The major parties involved are too interested in killing. There's so much intollerance and fervor in the region. How do you cool 2000 years of hatred and bloodlust?

NO, Islamo-facists and their supporters will never allow peace.... they want time to rearm and retrench.
Then, there are the Islamo-facists in other countries to contend with, the Mid-east is not the only place the maggots from dead pigs are causing problems.
