In History, it was only one official Catholic (Universal) Church in Christianity.

The Great Schism involved only the Catholic church. At the time, there were three, yes, three, popes; and the best part is each one was calling the other two the anti-Christ.

Catholics eventually did come together again, but then came Martin 'The Man' Luther. After him, there was no going back.

Well for the Great Schism, I don't know if they should unite, it is possible but i have problems with both religions and the protestant is the lesser of the two not evil but less detracting from the truth. Catholics still have the prayers to Mary when in fact the Lord's prayer says with Jesus praying, Our Heavenly Father, who art in heaven ... There is no where in the Bible which says pray to the saints or Mary.

Yet Protestant complain about confession, but I see that okay because there wouldn't be gossiping if we confess to a priest. Then penance with money. Hey in the Old Testament King David had to buy a field for disobeying the Lord and he paid a lot of talents of silver and gold for that. Rather than having to offer an animal sacrifice, i see that paying with cash is resonable.

I am looking to make a new religion myself but maybe a hybrid of the two protestant and catholic faith and take the best of both. LOL. The problem all happened when the church did in fact become official. that prevents many from entering the kingdom. too many rules and regulations, just like the pharisees.

Every Christian's desire should be to become more Christlike by obeying the teachings of Jesus Christ and His Apostles. This means that every Christian, whatever their denomination, is aiming for the same goal and unity must be the end result.
