I recently uninstalled Norton System Works from my PC, but then I was forced to do a System Restore to recover from a hijacker. Once the restore was complete, Norton was back on the machine, but only partially. I tried to use it, but it open an installer is all and that freezes. I tried unistalling it and it claims that it is missing a .dll, so I tried to re-instal it, but it says another version is already on the PC and closes or it also says an installer is aleady running. How do I completely remove it?

RNAV won't work (only for Norton Anti-virus 2003 or older), and let's nt be silly and delete folders and stuff. That will mess up the PC even worse. and deleting an item from the start menu will NOT uninstall it. Everytime I launch a program or boot my PC the Norton installer pops up and freezes.

go to www.symantec.com and search for a GREAT AND WONDERFUL program called:
RNAV

There are various versions of it, which is why I am not supplying you with a direct link.
Whatever you do, DO NOT delete the main Program Files>Symantec folder by yourself. Only a uninstaller (or RNAV) should do this.

EDIT: Remember: Deleting the Norton folder WILL cause corruption unless ALL registry keys are properly removed (this includes startup) (do not try to do this manualy)

open the start menu, and open run, type: regedit
then press on edit and find for norton or something like that.
delete everything you find related to norton
and then after finshing finding all results
try installing norton another time
and if you want to remove it,
remove it after rebooting

Good Luck....
