That is a LONG way off. The technology is in development, but nothing really dependable exists. Star Wars was a grand idea, and it's real goal, to get the Soviets to break themselves trying to keep pace, worked pretty well. Anti-missile systems like Patriot are minmally effective against old technology, like the Iraqi scud, but are not really effective against the "good stuff".

precision guided Patriot missles? They had a twenty five percent kill ratio in the first gulf war and most anylysts think that was mostly luck. The Missle shield attempts work if the incoming missles trajectory information is totally known to be fed into the the trajectory plan before the enemy missile is launched. I think you guys will get your shield shortly before solar meltdown.

The USA already has a prototype missile shield being tested.
There's also other missile defense systems, such as AEGIS cruiser/destroyer systems, improved Army Patriot systems and other systems in development.

Which country you from? If USA, I was wondering why you didn't knew it. Since the introduction of the precision guided patriot missiles, USA had already place those things around and above the american soil. You're getting late knowing this?
