What is a good make to buy?

I am not sure what you mean by on board memory. If you are thinking about a DVD Recorder with TiVo I am not sure.
But I do have a great DVD Recorder that can handle all discs (DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW). It has a timer where I set the timer, I am thinking, at least one week in advance, or tell it to always record during a certain day of the week or a certain time. It can record 1 hour, 90 minutes, 2 hours, 3 hours, 4 hours and 6 hours (the six hour doesnt look so good so I wouldnt suggest using that setting).

Just go TiVo and save yourself the next big purchase.

Just get the one panasonic makes. I have it and it works great. I am at work however and don't have the model # with me.
