Do U know what scares me? You are only 13 and U are obsessed with death. These people who are cramming this religious garbage down your throat have managed to frighten a child. Enjoy every moment of your life, Valerie. Don't be so afraid of dying that you forget to live. No one knows for sure whether or not there is an afterlife. Logic and common sense dictates that there probably isn't. Just in case, perhaps you should live this life as though it's the only one you'll ever have. If your religious beliefs turn out to be true, and you go to heaven, that will be a bonus. Icing on the cake.

Valerie, Chances are that you are one of the great crowd of other sheep that Jesus says will live on earth. That would explain why the concept of life in heaven seems so far fetched. I am not sure why you find Jesus hard to accept unless it is because our whole world at this time is centered on the idea that you don't get something for nothing. Also, Satan is sowing doubts throughout the world of mankind. Death is nothing to fear as Jesus has conquered death--there will be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous. Death is just sleep without dreams--and then, you wake up. Trust God that you will awaken to a new world filled with righteous humans.

Heaven and Jesus are, of course, metaphors and so, certainly too good to be true. They are the ideals - the highest you can achieve.
Death is a passage from one existence to another - one we can not exactly comprehend in our earthly incarnation. Heaven is meant to illustrate that it will be great, it will be home, it will be your fondest dream - and when we get there, we will understand. We will say - Oh I see! Wonderful and yet not comprehendable from Earth.
Jesus too - the ideal in the matter. The abosolute highest level of giving, kindness, loving person - not exactly attainable, but you don't want to run the risk of completing the course before your time is up. It is meant to be unattainable, to insure that you strive toward your fullest greatness each and every day.
Have no fear. You are safe.
Peace!

There are times when I have seen and encountered beauty that I realize it because there is this feeling deep down that is so wonderful that it makes me cry. Some people say that it takes their breath away. That reason makes me feel that there is a divine but I won't call it heaven or Jesus. A death in your teens or early twenties, is scary but as you live longer, you may find that not living a life of purpose is more scary.

i am atheist. Not going to insult you.
I was once a christian, and i do know alot of the christian experience.
Christianity preaches hopelessness disguised as hope. Its hope in the next life in exchange for hopelessness in this. The bible has been mistranslated many times. Put it down. Seek in your own self for truth. Truth is universal. You say you 'really try hard to believe'. I did to, untill I asked myself, "Why do I have to try hard inorder to believe something I think is true". Then I realised "I never KNEW any of christianity to be true, only believed". Thats what they do in church, try and get you to believe.... because there is no evidence. 'Faith' is all they have left.
Dont focus too much on the next life, focus on this one. Reality is now, thoughts are dreams.

Just take into your mind that everyone is born for a reason. Live your life to the fullest and be thankful for every little thing you may have been blessed with and make every failure a step towards a lesson learned. Perhaps with the joy you have every moment of your life, you may develop not to fear death anymore. Count your blessings. Do not think about heaven or hell. I will not even tell you to be to be good because that is the way to heaven, but be good because you feel it is the right thing to do.

It simply gives people hope. All religion (for lack of a better word) has some way to make death less scary, and to encourage good behavior. Two good examples are:
Christianity: Good people goto heaven (so maybe death is not so bad). Bad people goto hell (so I had better be a good person).
Buddhism: Not so enlightened people are re-incarnated, and get another chance to live (therefore death is nothing more than a new beginning). Enlightened people reach Nirvana (this encourages a person to be a good person).

Every body scared of death because they do not know what will happen after death. If you believe Jesus is your savior & you will go to heaven after death, then you can choose christian as your own religion. If you don't believe Jesus & believe cause & effect, then you can choose Buddhism. However, to become a buddhist is not an easy way as we can not rely on any savior to forgive our sin. We can only rely on ourselves to purify our heart in order to stop reincarnation & go to purified land. I am always wondering whether human being really can overcome the weakness nature of human being like selfishness, greediness, jealousy ,gossip, etc. If you can't puriify your own heart , you will definitely go into reincarnation after death . Therefore, Christianity is the easiest way to go to heaven. However, you must have strong faith to become a christian otherwise you will always wondering whether you have really make the correct decision.

There was a time I wasn't too concerned about death, and gave it little thought. My dad died, alone. he was terrified of dying, especially dying alone.. since then, I make sure either my husband or myself are with those we love, when their time comes.
I'm not nearly as ready to die as I should be I suppose.. I don't want anyone in my family to be hurting with their lives, if you can understand what I mean. I want to see them happy..etc.
Until I was faced with my own death a few years back, I suppose I was ready. I prayed not to die, but to live. Finally, I said 'your will, not mine'
Thankfully, I'm still here.
Truth is, it is that simple, it is that good.. it is that true. Rest assured that others are also fearful.. that part of life/death, is very normal.
See you on the other side, when the time comes..

To build up your faith, you would do well to have a Bible study.Jehovah's Witnesses offer free home bible studies. They have a accurate and thorough understanding of the Scriptures.
Death is nothing to be afraid of.
Eccl.9:5 states"For the living are conscious that they will die,but as for the dead they are conscious of nothing at all."
The Bible teaches that when we die we go back to the ground from which we came.We are not aware of anything. We do however, remain in God's memory and in His appointed time,Jehovah will resurrect all those who are asleep in death-both the
righteous and the unrighteous(Acts 24:15)
The Bible does not teach that all who are good go to heaven.Only a limited number go to heaven,to rule as kings and priests with Christ over the earth.(Rev.14:1-4).The rest of obedient mankind will have the opportunity to enjoy everlasting life as perfect humans on a paradise earth.(Ps.37:9-11,29;Pr.2:21
;Rev21:3,4)
If you feel you would benefit from a bible study go to your local Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. They would be only too happy to help you and answer any questions you may have.
