Yes I do live in So Cal and I do get sick of people not being able to speak English. It also irks me how I see billboards and some signs completely in Spanish now. I feel like I'm in Mexico. A lot of fast food places now have some of their signs in Spanish and such. I don't have a problem with the Spanish language or the hispanic people, but I don't think we should accomodate them (especially the illegals), I think they should learn English. It would be silly to accomodate all immigrants since we would have signs in almost every language. If you come here, you need to know English in my opinion.

I am not a mexican.. but i lived in Cali..
I don't really mind that they can't speak english.
It's not my business in the first place to judge people's inability to speak another language.
How do you feel if i am upset at you because you don't speak chinese (since it is now the 2nd most language used in the world)?
Doesn't seem fair, huh?
If you don't like the fact that they don't speak english why don't you be a helper by opening up a free english school?
Don't be a snob just because you speak english and looked at others as lowlife just because they don't speak the same language you speak.

I've lived in LA for fifteen years now. While it's true that many who have recently arrived here speak little English, the same goes for the Vietnamese, Romanian, Armenian, Japanese, Chinese, Hindu, Israeli and others who I've had as neighbors at one time or another.
Most of the older people rarely learn their new language well. The younger generation picks it up pretty quickly.
And you're stereotyping to use the term 'mexicans' when Latinos come from many countries. How do you know personally if they are from Mexico or Argentina or Costa Rica?

NO i don't get upset at that. Mexicans aren't the only ones who don't speak english in CA. There are a LOT of minorities all over the U.S. who don't speak english. it doesn't bother me one bit that they don't speak english. STOP believing that mexicans aren't the only ones who dont' speak english!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If they don't want to learn english, fine. i mean, what ever floats their boat.
you should be grateful that there are mexicans in CA.

People who think "they" should all learn English are ignorant. First, English is not the official language of the United States . . . even if it is the most widely used. Second, what the f do you care what language anyone elses speaks? Get a life and worry about yourself.

Umm, i live in TEXAS and I DO get upset when Mexicans don't speak English. Most of them probably do, they just don't want to, or have a little kid who translates for them. If they don't speak English, just do what I do, and start speaking another foreign language to them, like Japanese or even Klingon, just so they know the feeling. Hopefully they will get upset and leave.

Why do all of you get mad when mexicans don't speak english? i don't get it... i understand if they're working at a store and they can't speak english but in general it's not their fault. They're mexican, they speak spanish.. they come to america for a better life and others just get mad at them because they aren't bilingual?!?â¥
