Well I have grew up here my whole life and I can say LA use to be a good city for blacks but once the industrial jobs left in 88 those good paying jobs left the city so I would say no me personally I want to move to the south because I love the progression in the south now you see blacks in nice homes and doing it. As far as the music scene go with me making tracks I feel my career could soar there more than LA because the south's music scene is on fire and they embrace black culture and black music more in the south than here in LA. I love the south and I'm also looking at J'ville I visit last summer and fell in love with the city they also have a live hip hop scene about to jump off the only problem I see in j'ville is the dope game which had led to the high murder rate there but I'm not selling dope or thuggin if your in that lifestyle expect bad things to happen me I'm going for the music and better quality of life LA is too crowded for me and it's not no soul out here in Florida I got to embrace my culture and I love the dirty south with a passion I'm flat out tired of LA.

I think it's because of certain racism in Los angeles I left los angeles for that reason and moved to the south in Atlanta and it was the best move for me. Here Buckhead is like the beverly hills of the A.T.L. and you see a gang of blacks living there and making big money. In LA I could never get ahead when I moved here I have almost everything I need. Here I feel strong as a black man and seeing other blacks my age and younger doing well I can see why many of us are moving to the south. As for LA I had some bad experiences there LA reminds me of the old south these days you know not as bad as the old south but the racism is real bad against blacks were blamed for everything there it seems and LA has a 42% black umemployment rate well over the percentage average in the 50 states. Sure it's crime in Atlanta and all but here blacks are doing it in LA, I seen less of my people doing well and go to downtown LA and I seen most of us homeless. Now some of that is self inflicted but not all of it I feel is self inflicted so in my opinion I don't think LA is a good city for blacks.

I have lived in Los Angeles for 22 years and I know alot of black people who would never leave. Its mostly people moving to the south who are looking for cheaper rent or to buy cheaper houses. Also alot of rappers/singers are coming out of the south so ent. industry there is sprouting. Cheaper rent is the main reason and this is coming from me, and i visit Louisiana often.

I would say no. I also moved out of LA I now live in Duval County in Jacksonville Florida and I'm more happy here than I was in LA. I agree with the cat who said they went through more racism in LA. I know what you mean because I went through more racism in LA than here in FLorida. I can say here unlike LA blacks and latinos get along better maybe because it's ricans and cubans here though, who have black ancestry not to diss all mexicans but I did went through racism with mexicans in LA . And that did led me to move out of LA because when I was there it was tension between blacks and mexicans hopefully that will change and both races come together like how were doing here with the cubans and the ricans were kicking it and coming together LA seems like it's more separation now with the races and it didn't use to be like that especially with the minorities.

What what I have heard from people who've been there, it's both trashy and Hollywood. I know from my travels to California that it is an extremely expensive state to live in and it would make no sense to live in a place with such a financial burden.

most people leaving are older blacks not the younger people. also the population variance has to do wiith a large influx of hispanics into the area.
