A person can not maintain a lifestlye of sin and be saved.
A saved person can slip up and fall into sin (but their conscience, or the Holy Spirit, or another Christian will call them out of sin and the person will struggle out of the sin).
Cordially,
John

It all depends upon what you mean by "continue to sin". A person who has the Holy Spirit dwelling inside them cannot continue to enjoy a lifestyle of sin. A person may have a besetting sin that they struggle with, or a person may not have received "light" on a particular area of their life that is sinful and so they continue to sin in that area. But if a person knows a particular behavior is a sin in God's eyes and they don't care about it and just go on sinning and they don't feel convicted then it isn't too likely that they have been born again by the Spirit and are therefore not saved.

God is not after your perfection but your direction. Yes, many times we will still stumble, but is your heart wanting to repent, or continue to move closer and seek Him?
One thing you will notice also when you commit a sin though after getting saved. You will feel convicted and you know that sin will be utterly detestable to you.
Bible says for all have fallen short from the glory of God. All have fallen short even saved people. But our salvation is not based on our works, but by our faith on what Jesus did in the cross 2000 years ago.

You have to repent before you can be forgiven. If I do commit a sin and ask God for forgiveness and continue to commit the same sin, I don't thinks so. I am not perfect and will be the first one to tell you. Some religions believe that once you confess and repent that you will be saved no matter what. I don't believe that becasue the Bible say that We all fall short of his glory. That goes before we confess and repent and afterwards.

We all fall short from the glory of the God. We are saved only by the mercy and grace of God.
Think of the life of David, what a lousy husband, father and still God said that David is the man after God's own heart. When he repented from his sins, he failed...but there in the end, God do not even mention his sins. What an awesome God we have!!!

No you cant be "saved" and you are still sinning all the time. You have to pray and ask God to help you stop sinning and he will help you. (maybe not you but who ever you are talking about) I disagree with baptist doctrine of "once saved aways saved" thats not in the Bible.

Yea we do.
we find new ways to sin.
but perhaps the worst thing is that many times as we sin now, we know it, not like before that we sinned and did not know we sinned.
But thou I sin 70 times 70 a day, my sins are forgiven me.
