This idea of a celibate clergy came from the Jews, John the Baptist, Jesus, and the Apostle Paul.
The Jews. The Talmud argues that a person whose “soul is bound up with the Torah and is constantly occupied with it” may remain celibate (Maimonides, Laws of Marriage 15.3). For example, Yahweh ordered the prophet Jeremiah not to marry (Jeremiah 16:1-4). Moreover, the Essenes was a group that was active in Jesus’ time that practiced celibacy and thought by most scholars to be the authors of the Dead Sea Scrolls.
John the Baptist and Jesus are both believed to have been celibate for their entire lives. Some scholars believe that the example of the Essenes influenced either or both Jesus and John the Baptist in their celibacy.
The Apostle Paul is explicit about his celibacy (see 1 Cor. 7). There is also evidence in the gospel of Matthew for the practice of celibacy among at least some early Christians, in the famous passage about becoming “eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven” (Matt. 19:12).
The concept took many twists and turns over the years and will probably take a few more before Christ returns in glory.
With love in Christ.

The church, the priesthood, used to be a calling that attracted at least one male child from each big Catholic family. For whatever reason this is no longer true and there are too few priests. Priests might well provide better family advice to couples if they had family/couple experience from which to draw. And with the wider option of family and church, more capable men might be drawn to the priesthood.
Many churches in the Midwest have closed for lack of available priests. Many priests serving churches are from exotic locations and it might be difficult for highly traditional conservative parishioners to feel well-served by priests from so exotic locales. (this is speculation)

In my religion (Lutheran) we consider it a blessing that priests are allowed to marry. Priests can have the unconditional love (agape) for God, and romantic love. Marriage allows them to experience love and family like the rest of the congregation. Lutheran pastors have been doing it successfully for centuries. Even Martin Luther married and had children.

Maybe they could set an example of how to built a better marriage and incorporate faith & God. I've always thought it was weird that priest should offer marriage counselling. For me, it would be some difficult advice to swallow from someone who has never been in the same boat.

Because preists used to be able to marry. It's not a biblical reason that they aren't allowed. They imposed this rule so that the church would inherit any of their values, such as land and homes that they may have, themselves inherited. It was meant to prevent them from having dependants who might inherit them. The church wanted more power.
Molestation doesn't have anything to do with it...people who do that, preists included, do it to show power over someone. If they didn't do it that way, they would use antisocial methods to overpower people in some other way.

How about because the Bible says that they Must be the husband of one wife?
1 Timothy 3:1 Faithful is this word: If anyone aspires to the position of a bishop, he desires a good work. 2 It is necessary, therefore, for a bishop to be irreproachable, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, well-behaved, hospitable, skillful at teaching; 3 not given to wine, not a bully, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not loving money; 4 one ruling his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence; 5 (for if one does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?); 6 not a new convert, lest being puffed up with pride he fall into the same judgment as the devil. 7 Moreover he must have a good testimony among those outside, lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil. 8 Likewise deacons must be reverent, not double-tongued, not being given to much wine, not greedy for money, 9 holding the mystery of the faith with a pure conscience. 10 But let these also first be tested; then let them serve as deacons, being irreproachable. 11 Likewise their wives must be reverent, not slanderers, temperate, faithful in all things. 12 Let deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children well, and their own houses.

Everyone should have equal opportunties and should be treated the same;just because someone is a priest, doesn't mean that they should avoid what they should live up to.

Early churches barred it so that a preists' children didn't leave the church and take the priests' possessions with them.
