Im very insecure about what I do, you know at parties and all that. The reason I dont do things is Im so worried about what everyone else will think. I dont want to make any enemies or be thought less of. I know its a tough **** world, and that this is a common problem but I just want to know why I feel like this or how I can change it. Just hate that feeling that everyones talking behind me back, making fun of me or making **** up. It gets so bad I'm almost afraid to move sometimes. how can i shake this?

Well, you're a tad paranoid and you already said that you know it's a common problem. How do you think the rest of us do it? Fake it til you make it, baby! You need to quit focusing on what you're afraid of doing because you'll just end up doing it somehow. You need to see yourself being what you want to be and focus on that. You can't control what other people think. The sooner you digest that fact, the easier life will be. Quit worrying. Chin up, chest out, smile and nod. Try to relax. Have fun!

Sounds like social anxiety. Talk to your doctor about it. He can give you a pill for it. You sound a bit paranoid. Believe it or not, I used to have the same problem, but I was put on a pill for it. I no longer take it, but I'm a singer and on stage all the time, especially at parties. Lots of people have this problem. It's a matter of self confidence and self esteem. Get it in your head that this isn't going on. And so what if it is? Be strong! Don't back down and stand up for yourself. I would definetly suggest talking to your doc about it though. Good luck!

Sounds like you need a good anti-anxiety medication. Talk to your doctor. You can't live all cooped up without any social activity. Most of the time you might think people are talking about your or looking at you when they are not. Unless you're making a complete asss of yourself, they're just getting along like you are. Maybe try being in small groups first, and approaching and talking to someone to make you feel relaxed. But seriously, you need to see a doc about the anxiety before you become debilitated by it.

Here's the thing...if anxiety is restricting you (and it sounds like it is, especially from that last statement), talk to your doctor. Drugs aren't always the answer, but they can be a big help. I applaud you because it doesn't sound like you have relied on recreational drugs AND you're asking questions, taking the first step in the right direction.

It's possible you will outgrow this (as many of us get older, we care less what others think), but why wait? Do something for you now.

Please treat others the way you wish to be treated: with respect. Please clear your mind about what others may think about you, as long as you lived your life in selfless service, you have lived well.
