My 15 month old son has a food allergy to peanuts. His percentage on the scale is 67. How severe is this and can any one tell me more till I meet with an allergist? Thanks

My fiance's sister is deathly allergic to peanuts. I'm not sure how the percentage scale works, but I do know that if she even touches a peanut she breaks out into blisters. It is a very real allergy but not that common of one. Clear out any food item that has peanuts in it and DON'T cook with them, oil included. It limits some foods that she can and cannot eat, but beyond that, she lives a very normal and healthy life. Good luck and take care! :)

Well, the more you're exposed to peanuts when you have an allergy, the worse the reaction. Check labels on EVERYTHING!! So many foods are made on the same equipment as peanuts so check for that too. Also, don't let him have any other nut until you get him checked out. you never know what else he could be allergic to. Your doctor should be able to refer you to an allergy specialist!

Good Luck!

Well, the scale runs from zero to 100 so you can see where he falls. Probably won't kill him, but very very bad for him. Just read all labels incredibly closely. In the US they generally even say if a product contains peanuts or soy because they are such common allergies.
