Bells palsy is normally caused by great emotional, physical stress. It will resolve itself; however, you need to be in a good doctors care and get some physical therapy for your face.

Bell's palsy is a form of temporary facial paralysis resulting from damage or trauma to one of the two facial nerves. It is the most common cause of facial paralysis. Bell's palsy affects only one of the paired facial nerves and one side of the face. Symptoms of Bell's palsy usually begin suddenly and reach their peak within 48 hours. Symptoms range in severity from mild weakness to total paralysis and may include twitching, weakness, or paralysis, drooping eyelid or corner of the mouth, drooling, dry eye or mouth, impairment of taste, and excessive tearing in the eye. Bell’s palsy often causes significant facial distortion. Most scientists believe that a viral infection such as viral meningitis or the common cold sore virus [ causes the disorder when the facial nerve swells and becomes inflamed in reaction to the infection]

It's usually stems from a great deal of stress, whether emotional or physical. It usually goes away on it's own, but could last for several months or even years.

It's caused by a virus & will eventually go away. It takes a long time, but hang in there.

MY FRIEND'S DAUGHTER ATE CRAB MEAT AND THE LEFT SIDE OF HER FACE LOOKS LIKE SHE'S HAD A SLIGHT STROKE. IT IMPAIRED HER SPEECH AND THE DOCTOR PRESCRIBED MEDICINE AND TOLD HER FATHER TO KEEP MASSAGING THE AREA. IT'S BEEN A WEEK AND SHE'S LOOKING A LOT BETTER...OF COURSE NO CRAB MEAT FOR HER...HER DAD SAID THAT IT HAD TOO MUCH MERCURY IN IT AND THAT TRIGGERED THE REACTION.

This is a nerve problem and may find an answer with a good chiropractor.. call one and see what they tell you.. This condition has been known to respond well to this type of therapy.
