Great detective work princess. You are single handedly bringing proof undeniable that there is a big impact being made right now because we are sticking together as a country. When all you get are fools telling you that you are "jealous" you know that you are doing a great job. Thank you so much for you efforts.

$7,25 an hour is a remarkably low wage for a processing plant worker in Alaska. I do not believe that they did not know that they were hiring illegally. I doubt that they will be penalized for hiring the Mexicans in any way. How could the Mexicans afford to pay to go to Alaska for such low wages. Even bus tickets would have made the cost prohibitive, and given them an additional problem of crossing 2 extra borders. I wonder if the processing company used some of the boats in the fishing fleet(some of them range as far south as Chile) to transport these visitors, and it would be easy to pick them up in California. The economics underlying this whole mess suck!

How many legal residents of America can live on $7.25 an hour? Pay a decent wage and there will not be a need for cheap labor that is coming from south of the border OR keep the workers that are willing to take that wage out so these places have to raise wages and make the job more practical economically.

Thanks.

So why aren't they deporting the 302,000 Homeland Security says will be convicted into local and state jails this year alone? Those aren't usually deported after their sentence is served, and it isn't as if they would be hard to track down....

I'll believe they are serious about enforcement when they start at least getting all of the easy ones.

I see nothing wrong with your question. You simply asked a question like anyone else. You are not bashing anyone. You are just pointing out how our enforcements (ICE) are cracking down on the hiring of illegal immigrants. They are doing what they should have been doing all along. I'm with you on this one Princess. You go girl!! Pay no attention to the attempted verbal abuse you get from the pro-illegals. They know no better when they are clearly in the wrong except to resort to bashing the ones who show them the truth.

Another great question with PROOF to back up your position.
These S O B's think they are so sneaky and cheat their way into a job.I am sure most people haven't been properly trained in spotting false papers. How many of us could?
I just wish they would get busy deporting the rest of those CRIMINALS who snuck into this country.

About the same as it was to this!

Texas Co. Hired Illegals to Make MREs

McALLEN, Texas, Oct. 28, 2005
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(AP) A Texas employment agency was sentenced to five years of probation for hiring illegal immigrants to work at the nation's top producer of military battlefield rations, federal prosecutors said Thursday.

The Tollin Group was also fined $20,000 and ordered to pay $414,000 in civil penalties Wednesday. It has been barred from Department of Defense contracts for three years.

The San Antonio-based company, which does business as Remedy Intelligent Staffing, pleaded guilty in January to hiring illegal immigrants and trying to cover it up by falsifying employment eligibility forms. The workers were hired for Wornick Co., which makes MREs _ or "meals ready-to-eat."

The investigation was initiated in February 2003 after an al-Qaida operative was arrested with information pointing to McAllen and Wornick as terrorist targets. Wornick had been awarded a $47 million contract to produce more than 1.1 million MREs for U.S. forces in Iraq.

The FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force ran background checks on Wornick employees and found hundreds of temporary employees with fraudulent documentation.

I can't imagine the life-situation that would cause someone to leave their family, home and beloved homeland in order to scratch out a living illegally in a foreign country. Imagine if your life became that desperate! Wouldn't you like to think that there was a place that would welcome you into the community and give you the simple gift of opportunity to build a new life? I sure would. I think this anti-immigrant fever in America today is of the devil. We were built on immigration (granted, most of it was legal; and the most horrendous part of our history is the forced "immigration" of slaves). Immigration is a grand part of our heritage. Ask any American of Irish descent and they will tell you how seeing the Statue of Liberty from a ship as they entered America let them know they were entering a place of possibilities and open-mindedness.
