You can take online courses through just about any school. I do it through my local community college. The advantages are that you can study when it's convenient on your own time, log into "class" whenever you want. You don't have to go to a physical class at a scheduled time. No commuting. It's great if you work shift work or have an otherwise hectic lifestyle. You can still take all the classes you need to obtain whatever type of degree or diploma it is that you are wanting to obtain.

Disadvantages are probably just that you must be somewhat self-disciplined and able to study well on your own. You can ususally ask questions online, but some people learn better in an in-person classroom environment.

Personally, online works well for me because I tend to be a little intimidated to ask questions in front of a group of people, but communicate much more easily online and can ask questions with few reservations.

i don't know about which university if best or the probability of getting a job, but i know that some ppl prefer online classes b/c they're convienient w/ their schedules, can be done anywhere w/ a computer, and some ppl don't like dealing w/ going to class and sitting through lectures. but you still have to study and there's a lot of work to do, many have deadlines for assignments and projects to be turned in, and one has to be motivated all themselves to do it. good luck!

I take classes on line and some at a college. I like on line because I can do my work anytime I want - even at 3 in the morning.you still have to put yourself on a schedule, you can't fall behind. In my on line classes, we have assignments due ( we either mail them in or send them by E-mail) Group discussions and lectures that you read each week.
you do have to be a good writer because that is really all they can grade you on.

I know of a counselor that studied on line, and has a wonderful career through a drug and alcohol facitly. I guess its how hard you work, and how much you want it.
