Yes, for yourself, I think it would make you a stronger man, and there are many, many benefits to being in the army.
But it is not easy, and there is a great chance of you going to war, so just be prepared for all this. If you are serious, and want to be in the army, go get some more information because there are benefits to help you pay for college education, experience (being in the army is great on a resume), and VA benefits.

Joining the Army won't make you a better person. And If that's the reson you are joining then don't join. There are other ways to go about improving your life.

R U NUTS?? no, dont join the army, or navy, or ANY military outfit, unless u hve a death wish. there r other ,safer, ways 2 better ur self. finish school, go volenteer at a veterans hospital, that will change ue self 4 the better, helping ppl who have given their arms & legs & eyesite, 4 our country. see what the 'army' can do 4 u.talk 2 these men & women. see if they think they 'bettered' themselves.

the army isn't for lost people as someone says. the army makes and creates great people. u could be one of them knowledge is power get in the know. learn learn and learn

No, it wont be a good idea... in my personal opinion the only people that join any of military are really lost people.
