Christians, my favorite scripture is Micah 6:8 "He has shown all you people what is good. and what does the Lord require of you? To act justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God. To me that sum it up. If we as humans acted more justly to one another and were more merciful to each other and did walk humbly before our Lord, the world would be so much nicer.
Now, I am interested in the Christians views however I know that there are several others who will jump on this one, but that's okay because I think there are enough true believers on this site that I will get some sincere answers to my question.

I love this scripture in Micah! (See also Deut. 10:12 - similar but also a Torah Commandment!)

The three qualities or virtues referenced in this scripture are complete in themselves: justice, mercy, humility. . .with all three of them following verbs or "action" words!

As the sons and daughters of G-d we are keen on "doing" things (and not sitting around idle). . .now we can undertake accomplishments. . .we just have to make sure these three qualities always qualify our actions. . .while also knowing that we can never be perfect while in this mortal state. . .and that, in G-d's eyes, our actions will be judged according to our intentions.

I also love the Lord's command: "Love one another, as I have loved you."

Matthew 12:1 At that time Jesus went through the grainfields on the Sabbath. His disciples were hungry, and they began to pluck heads of grain and to eat. 2 But when the Pharisees saw it, they said to him, "Look, your disciples are doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath." 3 He said to them, "Have you not read what David did when he was hungry, and those who were with him: 4 how he entered the house of God and ate the bread of the Presence, which it was not lawful for him to eat nor for those who were with him, but only for the priests? 5 Or have you not read in the Law how on the Sabbath the priests in the temple profane the Sabbath and are guiltless? 6 I tell you, something greater than the temple is here. 7 And if you had known what this means, 'I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,' you would not have condemned the guiltless.

When Christians take heed to their own ways, doing what is right, and don't go around like puffed up Pharisees trying to tell other Christians how to live their lives then they have the right attitude needed to walk humbly with Jesus.

This is one of those" feel good christian questions"

I dont usually memorise scripture locations b/c I'm not so good with numbers. Though I have most of the Bible memorized.

I am farmilure with this verse, but I prefer when Jesus told the deciples the 2 most improtant commandments. "Love the Lord God with all your heart, soul and mind", and the new one, "Love one another". If you keep those 2 commandments all other thimgs God tells us to do is easy. I admit to breaking those as we all do but God is forgiving.

I feel the same way. This scripture shows us the way God Wants and requires us to walk .....We all can learn a great deal if we all applied these words to our lives. Oh how glorious life would be..

I think very highly of Micah 6:8, and try to live by it.

Sometimes successfully, sometimes not.

Cordially,
John

By learning every day what it means at this point, today, in my life. I believe sanctification is a process, layer upon layer. Some are peeled more quickly than others. Some habits are harder to kill than others.
