I want to congratulate you on your interest in the constitution. It is the bedrock on which the US society is based.
Read it closely - there is some good stuff in there. A few compromises. A number of amentments now to address one problem or another.
But most generally a great feeling of goodwill and fairness. That was and is the most important thing about the document - its attempt to be fair with everyone.
This is lost on so many people today who would rather their section of society were vaulted over another.

The government doesn't want you to know and understand the Constitution. They won't give it to you. Go here for an online copy: http://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution/constitution.overview.html
