huh i didnt know that cause i have to have water or i cant eat it i suppose cake batter ice cream has tons of salt

It has salt in it to keep it from melting fast.

I can only imagine its because of the sugar, salt and fat in ice cream. Also dairy products in general aren't really good at quenching thirst. My grandmother use to drink ice water with her ice cream.
