Well since I'm here I might as well enlighten everyone on our beliefs.
1) Actually we believe 144,000 are going to heaven. No, we aren't trying to sign up more people to heaven. There are two facets of God's Kingdom. They are the anointed or 144,000 who will corule with Christ.-Daniel 7:27/Revelations 14:3 and the righteous subjects who have an earthly hope. We try to help people appreciate that most of us will have an earthly hope to look forward to.- Psalms 37:10-11. In accordance with the scriptures we try to teach others about what is God's Kingdom and what it will do for mankind in the near future.
Also like someone said we believe hell or sheol is the common grave of mankind. We can come to this conclusion if we consider that the righteous man Job himself asked to be concealed in sheol.-Job 14:13 Why would a righteous man in God's eyes want to go to a burning hell? Obviously he was aware that sheol was not a place of torment but rather a place of rest. In addtion when we are dead we are conscious of nothing at all.-Ecclesiastes 9:5
Now blood is very sacred to Jehovah God's eyes.-Leviticus 17:11 Note the specific instructions he gave to his people regarding its use in the Bible. True Christians are admonished to abstain from blood and for good reason.-Acts 15:28, 29. Blood transfusions aren't necessarily that safe regarding the risk of AIDS, hepatitis, and malaria. We try to seek other alternatives that don't require blood, and yes it's been done before!

As a school teacher I have come acroos several Witnesses in class. While I respect almost all beliefs, I have noticed that some of the parents seem to think they are better than the rest of us Christians. I have had at least four parents present me with little pamphlets stating why they don't take part in many school functions.I know this will sound bad but it makes it more difficult for us to find alternate activities for just one student and it also makes it hard for a small child who doesn't understand why they aren't allowed to participate. What would be so helpful if at all possible would be for the parents to provide something for their child to do at these times. For instance, music time is my plan time but if I have one student unable to practice for the christmas program I have to stay in the room instead of running copies or returning phone calls. Thanks for asking a good question.

I think you have been brain washed. Salvation is given as a free gift. The Lord Jesus Christ died for your sins, He was buried and took your sins away and He rose again the third day for your justification. He did it all and you can't please God with your works. Ephesians 2: 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Ephesians 2: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. You try and change God"s Word to make the Lord Jesus Christ a lesser god than the Father. John 1: 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1: 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. It is sad when people get brain washed into thinking they can get into a kingdom by good works. Since according your religion 144,000 are the only one going to heaven and the rest of you are going to be stuck on the earth. Since according to you there is no hell so it don't matter. Have ever ask yourself could my doctrine be wrong. What if there is a hell. Don't take that chance but your trust in what the Lord Jesus Christ did on the cross for you. . 1 Corinthians 15: 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 1 Corinthians 15: 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

I don't think they are bad people. Some try to push their religion on you but so do a lot of other religions. Like Christians to atheists. I'm a Christian so don't think I'm not saved. Jehovah's witnesses are just trying to spread the word of God (I think) I'm pretty sure you read the Bible and not some other book. But I used to have a friend that was a Jehovah's witness and she always tried to get me to convert to her religion and believe what she did. People don't like that and it puts people in an awkward position. I'm not saying that all of you are like that or anything. I'm just telling you my experience.

trish, don't be discouraged by any of the mean comments. You know that Jesus warned us that we would be hated, and by reading just a few of the comments....what else can I say. There are a lot of apostates here, so be careful what you look at...
However, if anyone else is interested in Jehovah's Witnesses and what we really believe, Please look at the OFFICIAL website of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Click on Beliefs and Activities and if anyone takes the time to look at what we believe and what the Bible really says, their attitude may just change!!

The only experience I have with anyone of your faith was hearing someone say that Jehovah's Witnesses did not believe in blood transfusions and that hell was the common grave. I don't know if your religion believes this or not. Maybe you could enlighten me.

I believe they do have alot of truth and are not ever afraid to express how they feel. I admire them for comming to my door and showing me that there is a New Earth comming which only goodness will be. I love the fact that I can share what I have been shown from these people who are so shunned these days. I thank them... I would be lost.

Let's just say that when I came across this picture of an uniquely mounted doorbell button today http://tinyurl.com/kcsng my first thought was I bet that would discourage the Jehovah's Witnesses from ringing my doorbell.
