Hybrid golf clubs are the mixture between long irons and woods, if you can't hit your woods or long irons properly these clubs perform better and easier to hit. Most especially on the fairways and roughs.

Like they said, it is a combo of irons and woods. They have the feel and power of a wood, but the control and ability to hit from the rough of an iron. If you struggle hitting a 3 or 4 iron and you are decent with a 5 wood, then you'd want to get a 3 or 4 hybrid for those in between shots.

Hybrids have features of irons as well as of woods. Hybrids are meant for golfers who don't like to hit with long irons. Some well-known brands have developed in the past years special hybrids for women. Hybrids are also called Rescue Woods.

Its pretty just two clubs, designed into one. A wood and iron. Supposely they're easier to hit if you have trouble with either or, but I just prefer my woods and irons.
