I work as a cashier and I am amazed by the number of people who lick their money before handing it over to me. Do you think I enjoy feeling their bodily fluids? Some of them even throw it at me. I am a very polite and courteous cashier BTW.

An interesting observation and a good question, indeed.

Some people are so much attached to money so that at the time of payment they forget that it has ceased to be theirs. Moreover, if they know that it is going away from them, they give the last kiss to bid farewell or with the wish to get back in multiplied form.

Some people do it for luck, as years ago it was custom to bite a gold peice to see if it was gold, silver or other metal such as iron. Some for evil reasons like hopeing you will catch what they have. Some of them or most now days do it to get any ichen of coke it may have on it. I understand some nut cases claim they can get high if the like enough money.
Don't handle money people hav ein their mouths. Expalin to them you don't have to and make they use other money. It's very dangerious to your health. Regardless of what the goverment tells you aids can last a long time outside of a human body in body fluids. Once when I wa sliving on a beach they discovered needles supposely destroyed by a company hired to dispose of hazzard material they contracted form hospitals in Tampa florida. Instead they dumped it in to the Gulf of Mexico. Many o fthe needles and patient bracets from the hospital still had the aids virsus on or in them. The govermental officers immdeately thought [pressure form the gay community determined there was no danger. Bull. Personally I now use my debit card more thna money and would advise anyone ot do the same. eventually it willbe so bad everuone willhave to. non- Currency purchase is not far in the future due to items as you report. Thanks yours was a great post.

I've never seen anyone lick money. That's just weird. (And gross!)

I have, however, seen people lick their thumbs before counting money. I think it makes it easier to cound the money in case it sticks together. (I notice cashiers usually have one of those thumb things that looks like a thimble or some of that pink tacky stuff to spread on your thumb when you count. I guess most people don't carry either of those in their wallet. :))

Money is absolutely filthy, and I'm very thankful that debit cards have come out! I almost never pay with cash or check...it's just too easy to use a debit card. Plus, you don't have to touch anyone else's germy hands.

LOL!! I know its not funny, but I know what you mean!! I have been there. I've been a cashier for years and I hate that. Whenever my customers would throw their money at me, I started putting their change on the counter while they had their hand out awaiting the change. They would just look at me. Haha. And when they would lick their fingers I would grab the corner of the money as if I didnt want to touch it. (I'm pretty blunt and straightforward) I can top yours though! One time, this woman who was about 300 pounds came in to pay a bill (while i worked at a cell phone company) and she reached into her shirt lifted her boobs (they were humoungous!!!) and pulled out a wad of money!!! In all ones!! She paid about 70.00 worth in ones and a few 5's and to top it all off, It was all wet and sweaty!! I wanted to vomit!! LOL. Sicko. I lifted with the corner and laid the money behind me to dry off. Then, I grabbed for the hand sanitizer in her presence! haha

Boarding horses can selection from 2 hundred-one thousand it relies upon on in case you do field board or finished board (Stall) I presently pay 275 a month for field care. in case you have the money, and its consistent in coming in, use it to the proper! youngsters barns are advantageous because of fact it ability there'll very ordinarily be somebody there, and protecting a eye on issues. in case you have got here across the pony you like, ask in case you may desire to employ it first, so which you will nicely be responsive to its vices. i'm hoping this enables purely slightly, i've got owned/bought around 10 horses in my entire 14 years of residing. Thats awefull!
but,i myself have seen this, people lick on the currency notes to count them....when they'll learn to do it w/o moistening...else a moistened sponge is the best thing to be used.
It indeed is very bad manners...moreover throwing money at someone is the worst anyone could ever do,you are not giving money to a beggar, even if you were you should respect it and the human you are giving the money.
doing so with a cashier is genuinely unacceptable behaviour!
I apprecite your polite and courteous acceptance of currency from such NASTY people!

It makes it easier to select only one bill at a time and thus people (elderly especially) like to do it as a sure way of counting money (instead of accidentally having 2 bills stick together)

The same concept applys to people doing it while turning the pages in a book or novel.

That has got to be a most disgusting habit! I never heard of that before. Money is very dirty and to lick it is unthinkable and then to hand it to somebody. Ugh. Have you considered wearing gloves?

Are they licking their money or their fingers. I've seen people lick their fingers before counting their money to make it easier to hold onto the bills.
