Well my hair is supper curly so I could not really tell you.... But this is how i style my hair.
When I get out of the shower i towel dry it. Then I put a little amout of gel (only because my hair is very frizzy sometimes) then I brush the gel thru. Then I put my head upside down and scrunch (ya the 80's hu) my hair with moose.....
The gell seems to be kind of heavy so it will cause your curls to fall. The moose is light so it will give you more bounce for the ounce!!! Good luck!!!

I use curling gel on my 5yr old daughters hair. She already has naturally curly hair (like Shirley Temple) but we live in a very humid environment and without gel she looks like Bozo the clown. Curling gel just refines the curls and removes frizz.
I don't think it makes straight hair curly though.
You need to get a perm if you want to make straight hair curly.

no curling gel will not make straight hair curl. You could try scrunching...section off hair...start at the bottom and scrunch hair from ends to scalp while blow drying. if you have any natural curl this may work. you could also try hot rollers or velcro rollers...both are great for a temporary fix. if your looking for something permanant try a large rod perm. talk to your stylist as he/she would be able to tell you if a perm is right for you.

Curling gel makes your hair curly only if you have a perm or naturally curly hair...

no it doesn't. If you really want curly hair do what they did in the olden days............cut rags into strips......dampen hair.........wrap some of your hair up and tie in a loose knot and go to sleep at night. Take out the rags in the morning and walaaaaa! Extremely curly hair! :)) No chemicals!
