My uncle recieved this wine in payment for a job he did because the guy didn't have any money. He said it was worth about $150. Truth or lies?

cash is worth 150.00 if you dont know how much something is worth, than it wont be worth what they say it is to you. I wouldnt have taken the bottle, and id have sued him for the cash for the job.

If you mean Robert Mondavi instead of Robert Moderi then this wine is worth about $60 -- thats what you'd have to pay if you bought if from a store today.

Of course, you wouldn't be able to sell your bottle for that price as customers would rather buyif from a store where they can be fairly sure the bottle has been stored properly.

Suggest you open and enjoy it.

95/100 Robert Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon To-Kalon Vineyard 1998
Napa Valley, California, United States

Fabulous fragrant aromas waft of the glass. Toasted oak, vanilla bean blackberry jam earth licorice and spice. Superb density and sweetness of fruit. Surely one of the best ‘98. Firm tannins more austere a tighter package than the reserve but they are supple. An estate wine versus the reserve which is a Napa valley wine. Marjorie Vineyard and Z Block. 97 Cabernet Sauvignon 3 percent pv and malbec Available only at the winery $150 US

90/100 Robert Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville District 1998
Oakville, Napa Valley, California, United States

Leafy cassis green olive notes mix with sweaty saddle spice and pepper. Extremely soft on entry with round earthy tobacco prune flavours and then long and warm. The alcohol reads 14.5 but it could be higher. The round structure and balanced palate enhances the appeal. Perhaps not typical for Mondavi but certainly correct for the vintage.

89/100 Robert Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon 1998
Napa Valley, California, United States

Medium dark with an open green bean sweaty saddle nose and a touch of orange rind, vanilla and spice – more Bordeaux than Bordeaux. Lovely elegant style in the mouth, fine cassis and blackberry fruit on the palate before the light, dry tannins kick in. Should be fine in two years time. A good ’98.

90/100 Robert Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon SLD Unfiltered 1998
Napa Valley, California, United States

Tight smoky leather tobacco green bean aromas with black berry and earth creeping in at the back. Fine flavour intensity and elegance. Tobacco spice and pruny cassis fruit mark the flavours. A good effort in a difficult year for cabernet that tastes riper than the nose suggests with some tannins in the finish. Should mature by 2005.

92/100 Robert Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve Unfiltered 1998
Napa Valley, California, United States

Deep colour. Forest floor and licorice aromas with a whiff of barnyard and cassis and dill brine. Totally different in the mouth: rich and round with fine elegance and finesse. Wonderful tannin management. Fine cassis and peppery vanilla flavours in a long persistent smooth finish. A challenge for young vintners but not Mondavi. Less density but broader range of flavours. Majority Tokalon but there are small amounts of Stags’ leap, Carneros, West Napa.
