I have 3 girls and it is something that will never go away, but you can get rid of it and turn around and find it again. Don't buy the crap from the store, it is a waste of money, i have recently found this stuff on the web in search of something that would work, it is called LICEKILLER, it works realy good and they also have a spray repellant seems to work for me, when my girls have sleep overs i spray it like it says, havent had a problem since, just type Licekiller in Google and it will come up, you also need to buy a good fine tooth lice comb. If you dont want to spend the money you can also use olive oil and comb pieces of hair and make sure you get all the eggs, I use to use this method but now i waste no time and go straight for the licekiller. Hope this helps.
Oh yeah vacuum, and wash all the things you child sleeps with.

Make sure thier mother run through thier hairs with fine combs so all the lices and eggs stick to it, after use the right anti- lices shampoo to wash thier heads.
Get all the pillows and bolsters to sunned it under a hot sun. Wash up all the bed linens, blankets and towels. Throw all the combs and get new combs.
Tell your nieces not to share thier combs with thier friends.
If your nieces are in braids or corn rows, try to let it go awhile, and make sure that when the hair is free of lices then only sets in the braids again.

Get Rid, make sure all bed clothes are washed Hats clothes and combs are thoroughly washed. Also I know it sounds weird but one time I was told someone used pure alcohol and saturated the hair with it and it worked. Also there is a shampoo for itchy scalps called T/Gel for after the Rid treatment and or after the alcohol. Make sure the girls have no nits because they will continue to get lice if all the eggs are not out of the hair. Also any brushes throw them away and get new ones. This is a big problem in the schools especially in elementary, I wish your nieces the best and hopefully they'll be RID of them after this.

All the shampoos? Try R&C and follow the directions. I have not heard of lice resistant to it. If so, you can wash the hair in kerosene.
Lice also means a thorough changing of the clothing and bedding including stuffed toys and combs etc. What can be washed goes through on hot or through the dishwasher (Combs brushes etc) What can't do that goes to the freeezer for 48 hours. It is a pain, but if you do it right, then you have fewere problems with reinfections after 10 days!

There is also a cream rinse that your Dr. can write a prescription for (there used to be) After washing the hair and using the rinse, the lice would just slide out. No need for picking. But unless you do all the other stuff that goes with it, laundering, separating toys and bagging them up, and spraying down furniture and curtains, they're going to come right back.

what i always used is kerosene oil. dump it on there heads until all there hair is completely soaked rap there hair in a plastic bag and then in a towel i would leave it like that for a half an hour then rinse it out and use a lice comb. wash everything in hot water bedding clothes put stuffed animals in plastic bags and seal up really tight and leave them like that for at least a month. i would repeat washing the bedding and the kerosene thing 2 times a week for a few weeks

Our daughter got these from a classmate in kindergarten. We covered her head in mayonaise and plastic for a couple of hours and then my wife used the nit comb to get all the nits. The doctor recommended the mayonaise. Don't ask me why. My wife dealt with all this. The secret to success is removing all the nits.
Good luck.

My children have had it a few times through the years. I have tried EVERYTHING. The ONLY thing that has worked is to use prescription shampoos then going through their hair inch by stinking inch! It is tedious, and takes a couple of weeks of continuous monitoring of everyone in the household, to assure it is gone and you won't have them resurface. Good Luck.
