Men are always telling me they prefer dark hair. I feel like fake blondes are ruininig it for us naturals?

Guys will trip over themselves to date me and they all say how beautiful my hair is...but so many of them have commented at some point during our courtship about preferring dark haired women. Hypocritical? I do think dark hair is sexier (you always want what you don't have) but my hair has stayed uniquely light and golden even still (especially considering that I tan easily) Do you think that fake blondes are taking the 'distinction' out of being blonde for us naturals?? Anyone can become a blonde and there are so many fakes...We are getting a bad rap. Is there still appreciation for the natural blonde hair color?

It's a vicious, vicious, cycle. It switches sides all the time.

Society tends to find the more rare things attractive. Like you said, "you always want what you don't have".

If only a few women have freckles, men will be attracted to freckles. If they have dark hair, they'll be attracted to light hair. If everyone wears black, they'll want to wear white. It's opposite stuff.

But yeah. Only 15% of the American population is naturally blonde. But I think that somewhere around 30-45% are fake blondes. So yes, you can take the blame on fake blondes.

But once word spreads out that most men like dark hair, girls will be falling all over themselves going to get dark hair. And then men will prefer light hair. And you'll be victorious!

Don't dye your hair dark. You'll regret it later, trust me.

Appreciation for natural blondes? Absolutely! But does anyone really like their natural color enough to not enhance it a little bit? I guess there are some. Natural blondes can accentuate their color with darker or lighter blonde tones and still look natural. I also think that you can mix blonde, brown and red together and get a gorgeous color! I think you may be perplexed with what you think men want. If the guy loves you he won't care what color you hair is.

I have naturally blonde hair and I think so. Have you ever watched that TV show "The girls next door?" They are so dumb and I hate them with a passion because they look so awful and they have bleach blonde hair with dark brown eye brows. I think that people should stick to the color they were born with and stop trying to be so fake all the time. But I guess no one is really happy with anything because if you have blonde hair you want brown hair, if your hair is straight you want it curly. So no one actually appericates anything as far as I can see.

well I have long natural black hair. there was a time where I use to highlight it. And my husband use to throw a fit about it. so I let it grow out and loved it since natural is all ways better. So don't worry about all the fake blondes out there they are probably trying to get what you already have. just remember someday when there hair start's to damage, brake off. you will still have natural pretty hair.

Umm... your hair color doesn't make you. Its an attribute. Perhaps a guy is attracted to blondes, but then their personality sucks. I think you're stereotyping people here. Saying that fakes are wannabes and naturals are better. I don't think hair color is a common denominator in this situation.

Besides, your personality should keep a guy going, not your hair color.... and bottled hues happen to all shades, not just blondes, so with your logic, we could generalize that all people who currently are or have ever dyed their hair is ruining the everything for those select with an certain tone, shade,highlights, lowlights.

I'm a natural blonde. It says so on the box. ;-)
I can tell you that I get a lot more attention from men as a blonde than any other hair colour I've tried. Seriously.
You need to date men who are a little less shallow. If I was with I guy and he told me that he preferred dark haired women-that would be last thing he said to me.

ya i love natural hair you can tell the bads from the real it is ugly i mean its so blond its almost white or gray dont ever do it any of you out there it is ugly if your not natural and i love my hair its naturaly dirty blonde and i wouldnt change it for the world and i mean comon i dont plan to dye mine i love it i dont want it to be damaged and plus people say they would kill for my hair because it is so soft straight and on and on and on i mean whats the deal ya i have curled my hair but its so "perfect" that it wont stay but i am getting off topic i would dye it for the world no way i love my hair oh and forget my pic i just like messin with my avatar e_mail me [e-mail]

if you have blonde hair it will naturally get bleached by the sun in the summer. There was this guy in my class who also had golden blonde hair that had been a medium brown near the bottom part. When he came back to university after summer vacation, it was almost platinum blonde!
