Anti-Semitics are people that hate the Jews, for whatever reason. It is an unreasonable hate, because most of the Jews I know are nice people. The Ku Klux Klan is an example of anti-Semitism. So are most examples of Islam, with several exceptions.

The Kurds of nothern Iraq are Muslims; but they have been persecuted throughout history, as have the Jews, by Arabs throughout the region. As a consequence, they have a more civilized and more evolved form of Islam than can be found elsewhere.

Also, at least a few of the Muslims of Pakistan are moving away from the violence of Islam elsewhere; and seem to be in the process of evolving a more peaceful and less violent religion.

It should be recognized that all the religions, including Christianity and Judaism, went through their violent phases. Christianity, Judaism, and the Budhists however, have long since adapted to modern times; and consequently, become peaceful religions.

This is not yet true of modern day Islam. Modern day Islam continues to be as backwards and anti-Semitic as it was 700 - 800 years ago. It has so far shown no ability to adapt to the 21st Century. It is a religion that conquers - a religion of the sword. If a Muslim attempts to leave Islam he is considered an apostate; and if he is in an Islamic state - where Sharia law is practiced - he is usually beheaded.

Unlike Christianity and Islam, Judaism does not teach that non-believers are bound for hell. So long as Gentiles obey what are known as the 7 noachide laws, Jews believe that non-Jews can make it to heaven also. But they do not believe in converting others to their faith. On another note: If your mother or grandmother was a Jew, you are considered a Jew also - by Jewish religious teachings - even if you belong to another faith.

Technically, an "anti-semite" is someone who displays hatred towards people of Semitic descent (in the Bible, descendents of Shem).

While this is usually used to mean hatred towards Jews, it is interesting to note that all Arabs are ALSO SEMITES. So are most Iraqis, Iranians, and others from that area of the world. Strange how we forget these things, isn't it?

The term Anti-Semite means one who is against the Semitic people, which include Jews, Muslims, Arabs, any and everyone of the MidEast descent. This is not to be confused with Anti-Judeo, which is one who is against the Jewish people alone.
May the Lord bless and keep you. May He let the light of His face shine upon you.

It technically means "hatred toward those of semitic descent". However, its clear usage in the vernacular is specifically toward Jews.
