Some female dogs come into "heat" as early as 9 months some a lot later.
She should not be breed under 12 months they are not mature enough.
They are in season for 3 weeks, 1st week coming 2nd week right time to mate(depends on the color of the discharge) shoud be a champange colour about the 12-14 days after she comes in season. But they can still get pregnant up until the 20th day so be careful, If you mate her make sure you are there to watch her. and do not let another dog near her when she is in season, they can have a mix of puppies. Good Luck

Female dogs will usually go into heat sometime between 4 and 6 months of age. If you are considering breeding your dog please do not breed her until she is at least 2 years of age. Dogs are still growing and breeding them under the age of 2 can cause irreversible damage. If your not considering breeding your dog then you should get her spayed as soon as your vet will do it. Some vets will spay dogs 3 to 4 months and some will have you wait a bit longer. Either way be careful to keep your dog away from males, they know when they are in heat and once they are tied you won't be able to get them apart and you'll have a puppy that's pregnant. A female dogs period will last 3 weeks but she will only have bleeding for 7 to 10 days of this 3 weeks, there will be swelling in her genital area.

A female gets her period sometimes as early as 4 months.. six is usually the norm.. A dog can mate as soon as then.. It is NEVER recommend to breed a dog before the age of two.. there are too many health concerns as well as the fact that the dog hasn't finished growing yet.. consider it a teen like pregnancy... not a good idea

My dog goes into heat every 6 to 8 months. If you want to mate your dog it's best to wait until she's at least a year old. Her cycle can last up to 2 weeks so be sure you're prepared for it. You can buy her a washable diaper from any pet store. During the time that she is in heat be sure to have your male dog there with her because she can only get pregnant during a certain part of the cycle. Good Luck.

Dogs usually go into heat between 6-12 months. It really depends on the breed. You should NEVER breed a female that is under 2 years old. They are not mature enough to take care of a litter of pups. You should contact your vet and ask him these questions and he can better answer you.

Never breed any dog until they are mature and have been thru at least one heat cycle. they come in heat twice a year..the female will swell up and bleed. when she is almost or done bleeding she will accept a male. if she is not ready to breed she will fight him. keep track of the first time she mate on calender so you will know pretty close when they will be born around 62 to 65 days. they usually start showing in the 4th or 5th week. they need lots of good nutrition and vitamins and extra food so u will have healthy puppies.I raised lots of Brittneys and pomeranians.Do not breed them just to be having puppies if they are mixed breeds. They do require a lot of care

girl dogs go in heat about once every 6 months. They are capable of mating before a year but should not.

A dog can go into heat as early as three months, it's not recommended to mate them until they are one year old as it is dangerous to Mom and pups, however, as soon as they go in heat, they can get pregnant.

my miniature min-pin went into heat around a couple of weeks ago at 10 months. It kind of freaked us out b/c I did not know dogs BLEED the whole time they are in heat.Except mine was breed about 1 week into her cycle.Otherwise they have a MENSTRUAL TYPE cycle about every 6 weeks.Everyone would not listen when we said not to hold her b/c they would get blood on them. And my 12 year old daughter got it on her about 3 times before she would pay heed.
This was her first cycle.

they can get their first "heat" at six months and can be bred then BUT its very risky to her health and may even stunt her growth..
no dog should really ever be bred until it has good to enough dog shows to prove it is an excellent example of the breed worthy of passing on its genetics and you the owner are willing to risk its life for the sake of having pups - spayed females and neutered males have fewer health risks and less behavior problems
