I know this has been done before. I'm not reinventing the wheel but I get tired of hearing negative things about the U.S.A. and the people that defend her now and died defending her in the past. If your not a Veteran, then thank one when you see one. U.S.A.F. Honorably discharged, 1999.

you know what mate, that is probably the nicest thing you could ever say or do for a veteran. VERY RARELY do you receive a thanks from anyone while in uniform. Sometimes, we are cursed instead. I personally have been called "baby killer" and "murderer" because I am a Marine and was in uniform at a restaurant with my father. Yeah, maybe to them I was, but to millions more, i was a fighter and a friend. So let me thank you on behalf of my Marines as well as every Marine serving around the world, in every climate and place. In sunny tropic scenes and far off northern lands, we are proud to serve for people like you. Thank you. Thank you for every veteran. For every veteran of the past, present and future. Thank you for the acknowledgement. Semper Fi. and thank you for your service too.

It is great to see a post like this instead of some of the mindless nonsense that is asked on Answers..
During this very dangerous time in our country's history, our young men and women who answer the call to service need all of our support and prayers..God Bless all active duty and veterans. We can sleep in peace tonight knowing that they are making sacrafices to defend the homeland and our freedoms..
So tonite when you lay down in your comfortable bed in your 3000square foot palace in suburbia somewhere in the good ole U.S.A. remember..some kid from a poor or middle class family is risking his *** for your freedom...be thankful and remember them in your prayers
God Bless the U.S.A.F.

I want to say that I am a USAF veteran with 21+ years in and still going strong. I have been in almost every conflict since Panama and it is always great to hear the general public thank us military members. What I would like to say is that without the support of our country we would be nothing. So I want to thank each and everyone of you that supports the people in the military!!

If you enjoy your freedom; thank a military member...

If you can read this; thank a teacher...

Thanks for thinking of The VETS. Many of us got out and then thee Military did not keep their promisses of taking care of us medically at no cost to us. And Hear! Hear! for the Military dependent wife's, husbands and children too! As the young lady above mentions, they give up a lot too.

I agree, we should all thank veterans whenever we can. Whatever one's politics may be, we all enjoy the fruits of many others' efforts, those who have served, are serving... Also, consider thanking the families of veterans, and the sacrifices they have made as well. Patriotism.
Thank you, all of you veterans, and families of veterans out there!!!

I agree wholeheartedly. My husband and I both served, and we will go up to a soldier in uniform and shake their hand. It's the best feeling they get when someone says thank you. I know I used to love it. So thanks to all you veterans and those still serving. US Army, 2000. Keep up the good work!

i support my husband (and the other men on his ship) 100%, but i never hear anyone thanking the wifes of the military men. we give up just as much and go through just as much hell as they do, but we dont put our lifes on the line. he can wake up everyday knowing that i am alive, on the other hand, im in the dark until i hear from him.
