No. remember the real and famous adage that says there are no athiests in foxholes. Think about that. Life is full of foxholes. They are not all on battlefields. And, in those foxholes, even the hardest of athiests will disappear.

A 'friend' is thought to be one who bails you out of jail.

Not true! a Friend will be sitting in Jail with you, saying "wasn't what we did really NEAT?"

But, I died three times, and was revived each time. One of the times, I saw the light, went up the tunnel, but, got snatched back before I met any of my 73 Virgins!!!

Hell, they were probably all guys, anyway!

We'll see later, now that I know the truth!

Yes. Though in a way, I pity people who believe in God...For one, they're after easy answers. Can't understand science? That's ok, we'll say God created it!

Also, though, because they need God in order to feel complete. God is a placebo pill. They think he's there and doing wonders, but the reason that it seems like everything is working so grand for them is not because of God, but because they think it's God. They have trained themselves (or have been trained by others, if they've always been religious) to see everything as a gift from God, or a miracle. They can't see anything good for what it is: chance, luck, or their own doing.

It's sad to think that people are so afraid of death that they cling to the idea of God simply for that reason. I know plenty of people who feel that way. A lot of so-called believers I've met state something like, "I don't want to just end up six feet under when I die," as their reason for believing in God. What kind of reason is that? You're afraid of death, so you believe? Ridiculous. Just realize that death is natural and you wont even realize you're dead after it happens, so what does it matter?

Personally, I'd rather end up in the ground. Hell sounds like, well, Hell...And Heaven sounds absolutely boring. I can't have constant happy, happy, happy. I need some down time to really make me appreciate the good.

John chapter 20

24 One of the disciples, Thomas (nicknamed the Twin*), was not with the others when Jesus came. 25 They told him, "We have seen the Lord!" But he replied, "I won't believe it unless I see the nail wounds in his hands, put my fingers into them, and place my hand into the wound in his side."
26 Eight days later the disciples were together again, and this time Thomas was with them. The doors were locked; but suddenly, as before, Jesus was standing among them. He said, "Peace be with you." 27 Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here and see my hands. Put your hand into the wound in my side. Don't be faithless any longer. Believe!"
28 "My Lord and my God!" Thomas exclaimed.
29 Then Jesus told him, "You believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who haven't seen me and believe anyway."

Why would that make you lucky? Believing in nothing is just that....nothing.

It's actually a very sad thing.

Then what do you rely on? Coffee? Other people? Yourself? Transient, non-necessary entities?

I don't think that's lucky, I think that's hopelessly naive.
