No, it's not true, but it is highly entertaining. And it's story was told with bits and pieces of truths, and mostly from conspiracys and stuff that people have thought up abotu the bible.
I don't believe in the bible any more than I beleive The DaVinci Code, and I'm fine with that.

it's conjecture. the story is backed up by some historical fact. and a lot of myth and legend. (by the way i just want you to know that dan brown did not come up with that story. the possibility of jesus being married and having a family has been known for a very, very long time) i think the biggest thing about it is that the whole idea is very plausible. given mary magdalene's place in the bible--she went to his tomb after he died, usually a wife's duty; if she was merely a disciple why didn't the other disciples go?--it is not hard to make the connection that she was jesus's wife. add to that the fact that it was just not normal to be a 30 yr old jewish man at that time and not be married. and the fact that many gospels were written about jesus around the same time so why did only 4 make it into the official canon? were the others heretics? they were all disciples so why are they still in the bible if they are heretics?
the point is that the story makes sense. and that it doesn't really change anything. jesus was still a pretty good guy with some great ideas about love and forgiveness. his being married and having a family doesn't change any of that.

When people give you answers to tough questions like these, BE SURE to check their resources. And don't just settle for "my dad told me" or any other anecdotal "evidence." Get proof(s) that you can hold and read first hand for yourself.
Concerning this question, I would have to say no, the da vinci code is not true, and would ask that you search the internet for evidence. And remember to look for names, dates and places that you can double-check the truthfulness of. Don't take any single answer as true, but weigh and combine all the evidence for yourself.

Yes, it is a true work of fiction. If your friend ever asked what it is. It is a novel, fiction, and nothing more. Written by a man, who wanted to write a novel, and make a lot of money, and if he stirred up the world doing it, even better. with that he can have his name written in history, as the person who turned the world upside down. Because we are ignorant, and unsure human being who always want and want to know the truth, and when we get it, we still ask, is it the the truth is it. Well, honey! enjoy the book, and then let it go, it is as false as a three dollar bill.

Get the book and read what the author says on the first page. It is fiction. Who do you believe the author of some girl. If you were in Sunday School you should know better. 2 Corinthians 5: 21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

It's not true...it's a novel that is based on a tiny bit of fact with a whole lot of imagination. Most of the true stuff based on Gnostic Christianity (considered heretical after the council of nicea which put together the bible) is taken from Holy Blood Holy Grail...a book which some say is actual research...but I haven't read it so I can't comment on how valid it is.

No, but it is a really good fictional book. Like any good fiction it has a little bit of truth and whole lot of imagination spinning it in a totally different direction than it started out to be. Just read the Bible, it is the whole truth and never be afraid to talk to your pastor when you are unsure.

No, it is very well documented but some alterations were necessary in order to make the story. Have you ever heard that it's easier to say the truth most of the time so you don't have to remember your lies:)? It works the same way. Historical facts support the story better, makes it more believable.

It's an entertaining piece of fiction, and it's fantastic that it makes you question the Bible's authors' bias-- critical thinking skills are a great asset. However, most scholars, religious or otherwise, believe the historical premise behind the novel is false.

NO> the Book is a fictional story made up by the author inorder to make lots of money $$$> there is NO proof to support any of his claims (i.e. Jesus marrying mary magdalene, etc. etc.) I would trust the bible because it is the word of God. The bible warns that there would be many "decievers" throughout history trying to discredit Jesus' divinity> be careful not to be decieved>
