The question is, what do you consider 'Hell" to be?
Is it fire and brimstone as some would have us believe?
Is it an afterlife of eternal wandering in a dense fog, seeing no one?
Or is it a state of mind, known only to those of us still earthbound in an unreal reality?
Does it matter what religion we are, or even if we are religious? Religion and spirituality can be two separate things. Which do you believe you are? Search your own soul for answers, then follow your own convictions, not what is dictated to you.
To some, God is a presence in their daily lives; not judging nor condeming.
To others a wrathful, avenging God is what they believe in.
I ask you...do you go to church to commune with God? Or do you take the God within your heart to church with you to share with others?
Do you talk with God only in church, or do you converse with Spirit on a daily basis, as a loving friend?
What do you consider Heaven to be?
Is it kneeling at the feet of a God who sits on a throne throughout eternity, doleing out praise or punishment?
Or could heaven be a dimension in which we live on in another form?
Is life over when we die, or is it just a classroom for the things we need to learn in order to progress with our spiritual growth?
No one can answer these questions for another. They need to be pondered over by each individual during this lifetime, and when a decision is come to, it is your decision...what you, yourself believe is what really matters in the long run.
Whether you believe in Heaven and Hell, or in a multidimensional reality, the belief is yours and yours alone, as we are each the creators of our own reality.

I know it's hard to disbelieve a notion that you fervently adhered to and grew up with. It's not your fault. Your parents were also just fed with the information. The argument you say is in fact the strongest point that makes Christianity a very well expanded community, for the following reasons:
1. It asserts that it's the only way
2. It creates the fear of hell
Those are the only two reasons that made it a very big religion with lots of blind followers. I'm not dismissing that everyone who believes it is blind. But many just accept it totally without even knowing the doctrines, and therefore still do not live out Christianity.
Who knows if the things you read in the Bible are what Jesus really said? Maybe he meant it in another way or used other words. Maybe he didn't even mention hell. Hell is not even mentioned in the Old Testament. The writers were not stenographers who could really record what Jesus said verbatim. This is evidenced by the variation you read in gospels.
What really matters is your personal life on earth. You try to work up your belief according to your life. Maybe heavenly revelations to others are not meant for you, because in due time, God will have revelations to you in your lifetime now.

It has nothing to do with where you live. The Lord Jesus Christ died for the sins of the world so that all that believe could go to heaven. He died for their sins, He was buried and took their sins away and He rose again the third day for their justification. If you reject what He did then their is a hell and you send yourself there. 1 Corinthians 15: 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 1 Corinthians 15: 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: John 3: 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

No not all "non-christians" are going to hell. The following text is one that supports my statement.
Romans 2:11. For there is no respect of persons with God.
12. For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;
13. (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
14. For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
15. Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)
16. In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

Christians who know the Bible know that God says he will judge everyone on what they know. If someone never heard of Christainity in their life, they still have a chance to be saved.
Also, any who worship a creator of the universe will be saved according to the Bible. Even if they have never heard of Jesus.
If you've never heard of Jesus, there are other ways. God is much more full of grace and understanding than many preachers preach.
Romans 1: 19,20 addresses that God's creation is known to all. Some Christians believe this means that everyone has a chance to know God, even if they've never met a Christian.

Hey Kid,
Hell is the grave, and everybody is going to be called out of it. What does your preacher say about the two Resurrections? If you're a good christian, you come up in 'the better Resurrection'.
Who comes up in the other one?
The book of Isaiah has a lot to say about that. Talk about the 'good news' of the Bible!. There is a lot of false teaching going around. Remember, Satan deceives the whole world.

well, i can't really say who is and who isn't going to hell since it's not up to me, nor does it really matter what i say or how i interpret what god says. what matters is what is true.
i happen to believe that those preachers are probably right. the numbers of people who agree or disagree with me really have nothing to do with whether or not what i believe is true.
however, i think you might be missing the point. most of those preachers are preaching good news, that god loves us and wants us to be with him.
the bad news, hell and judgment and all that, that's more about describing the crappy things about life we already understand pretty well; maybe that's why we have a tendency to latch on to that part. unfortunately, it seems to be the good news we have a hard time accepting, and the bad news we love so much.

If there is a hell.
I was raised Catholic, but refuse to worship a god who would send someone to the worst place imaginable, just because they go against "the 10 commandments". For example:
If a person lives a very good life, is kind to others, is active in charity work. Has strong morals and ethics, helps others before helping themselves, and this person just so happens to be one of the above mentioned religions (or god forbid gay), why should that person go to hell for all eternity. Alternatively, if someone is an a**hole, but is Christian, do they go to heaven?
My beliefs have grown over my years, and continue to grow. But right now I can say that, I believe there is no hell. And if there is a hell, then I don't believe in "God".
