Have you you tried one? Many of my family members have succumbed to that terrible fate. I miss them and wonder why people must put them to death in those bottles.

Haha. Ya you're a worm, I see. I am not completely sure, but I think there is no worm in tequila. It is in mescal which might be a tequila-like drink. So does anyone enjoy the worm in mescal? I don't know. I never have seen the worm. Gross. And now that I know they are your family members, I will not allow any friends to eat them, but I will give them a proper burial, rest-assured.

Enjoy? No, but there is a perverse sort of pride... Seriously, though, the 'worm' is a sort of caterpillar, and are placed in the bottle to test the purity/strength of the tequila. If it dies within a certain amount of time, it passes. Funny how that works... On a similar note, the tradition of serving Corona beer with a lime came about because the bottles get reused, and sanitation standards in Mexico are not all they could be, and the citrus acts as a disinfectant.

I ate the worm.........well actually I swallowed it whole, after already consuming alot of alcohol so I did not taste it.
But ohhhhhhhhh what a buzzzzzzzz
But then know that you will be hugging that porcelain toilet all night and most of the next day.
And make sure you have a big bottle of asprin handy the next day also.

Oh I know - these people are so damn cruel to poor little harmless worms. They are much better off being in the ground doing worm things.
I use to know this guy here in Oz and he use to eat that worm. What a sad and sorry creature he was too!

I never drunk Tequila, But I heard the worm get you drunker than the tequila.

there is no wurm or worm if you meant the anthropod, that worm is often found in a drink called mescal,, which i dont think,, tho it might be a tequila

My boyfriend ate it because he was told it's supposed to be a hallucinating drug type of thing.. I don't think he got anything out of it.. guys are idiots. (no offence!)
