I think you meant to spell "Synthroid" which a synthetic replacement for the hormone produced by the thyroid gland. It is absolutely amazing what the thyroid does for the body. Hope you're OK if you have to start taking it. I've been on it since 1987 for low thyroid function and have never had a moment of trouble as a result of the medication.

Synthroid..............it is a drug, a pill, for hypothyroidism. When the thyroid is low it's extremely important to take a thryoid pill, (synthroid) every single day. They do come in different dosages from weak to strong so the person must have a blood test to determine how much is in their system.

If you mean synthroid, it is a brand name for levothyroxine - a thyroid medication used to supplement under-active thyroid production in the body (hypo-thyroidism). This in part controls your metabolism.
It's a small pill taken daily. Monitoring your thyroid levels as directed by your doctor ensures that you are taking the correct dose.
For women of child bearing years, it is important to keep the level in check, as you may have difficulty conceiving otherwise.
Hope this helps.
