Is it strange for a person to have a crush on a celebrity even though they more than likely will never meet that person?

No, it is not weird. You dont need to know the person to have a crush on him/her. All it takes is seeing that person once.
Whoever said its weird, just ignore them :)

Actually, a lot of people get celebrity crushes. I use to have a huge crush on Johnny Depp, but I grew out of it. Usually it's just a phase, unless you become a stalker, which then the crush becomes insanely unhealthy. I think that people are just attracted to an aspect of the celebrity that they either heard about in the news or an actual characteristic of one of the roles they play.

It's not weird but it's not healthy. Let's say you do meet this person; they might not be what you expect them to be and then you might be crushed so...you shouldn't get caught in that.

It's actually quite common. You should get over it in a few days or a week or two, they never last for long.
