I've been on BuSpar for 7 years at a minimum dosage. No side effects at all. I stopped taking it for a few months with the doctor's permission and had no withdrawal symptoms. There are newer drugs for anxiety but they all have a lot more side effects and you can get BuSpar in generic form so it costs a lot less.

I HAD THAT DON'T GIVE A $HIT ATTITUDE TOO AND NEARLY GOT KILLED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
YES I did...
Dizziness...followed by night sweats and faiting...
IT DID NOT HELP MY anxiety at all...
I also had jerkiness in my arms and face...I nearly had a stroke.
I am NOW 3 years after I STOPPED the medication...MYSELF...am having liver problems that I have not found what it is from yet...but I do not drink or smoke...and Buspar, Xananx, Paxil,Zoloft ...where the only drugs the DOC put me on.
Do a lot of research on these drugs IF you are headed for their use.
I found out that my ANXIETY comes from being an EMOTIONAL SPOUNGE...I feel people's pain, anxiety anger and fear...when I am in a large group it is magnified!
Try to FIND the cause of your anxiety, do not suppress it.
Suppressing it should only be done as a LAST resort untill you can learn to control it.
FIND THE CASUE! DEAL WITH IT.
I still have some anxiety attacks but hey Blind people cannot see so what that is life...
WE all find a way to deal with it.
There is no PILLS for blindness...none to get people out of wheel chairs...etc...
So why do people with anxiety and depression need to take meds?
TO suppress what is wrong because OTHER people are uncomfortable seeing us have attacks?
It got so bad for me that I did not know what I was supposed to do everyday...and from 1998-2003 there is a lot about my life that I forgot!
I suppressed FEELINGS and DREAMS and MEMORIES TOO!
I was living in a dark tunnel in the fog!
That was me!
Everyone is different!
I have taken it for 2 years now. It has definitely helped me. It stopped my panic attacks completely and allows me to sleep at night. It does make me a little sleepy during the day, but nothing a cup of coffee won't cure.
