The equipment isn't needed, though it is nice. She can get her exercise by walking and swimming too, or doing the crunches as you mentioned.

I won't say that this is the fastest way. And the fastest way may not be even the healthiest. But I will tell what worked for me:

Walk a lot.
Drink lots of water
Don't eat seconds, and get smaller portions of food.
Lower the ammount of fried food you eat. Cut it out if you can with relatively little pain.
Keep fruits and fresh vegetables around for snacks instead of junk food.
If you eat cereal for breakfast, don't get the 'kiddie cereals' (anything brightly colored with a cutesy name). Choose a good whole-grain cereal and don't add sugar.

The weight should start dropping right on off!

Good luck!

Encourage her to go walking or buy her an exercise dvd that she will enjoy. If you exercise together you could help motivate her to not give up when she doesn't see immediate results. Losing weight takes time so keep reminding her that her hard work will pay off. When it comes to a diet plan....you will have to be in charge of that. Don't bring foods into the house that will tempt her, if you want her to eat healthy you must set a good example. Vegetables, fruit, wheat bread, lean red meat, fish, chicken and lots of water. No more sodas, candy, or greasy fatty foods! Smaller portions means a smaller waist. Teenage girls have a tendency to be VERY critical of their bodies so make sure she knows she is beautiful and she is losing weight to better herself and not to make others happy.

To lose the weight in a healthy way she should control her portion size. The best thing to do is to eat 6 small meals a day instead of 3 big meals a day. Some people also use a smaller plate. Daily walking is free and it is a good way to get in shape. I suggest you ask her doctor to refer her to a nutritionist who can set her up on a safe and healthy diet.

Hi
This is a safe and a healthy plan to follow so here goes ,
If you are serious about losing weight, the calories in the food you eat should be less than the energy you use. You will have to increase your metabolic rate now, and plan your diet carefully.
Formulate your own weight loss plan and you will lose weight faster. More details available at http://tinyurl.com/m7ckx

Good luck

Cut out sodas and sugar drinks, unhealthy snacks and go on a scheduled eating program. Of course working out or weight training. Drink lots of water to flush out her system. Don't stop eating she will gain weight rather than lose. I eat very little and my dr. has told me that is my problem. I do not eat enough and in turn my body stores what I do eat instead of processing it correctly. By changing eating habits I lost 30 lbs in 3 months.

Diet - eat smaller portions and better quality. You don't need gym equipment for a good workout. Walking or running daily could help, along with some good ole pushups and situps, maybe a few squats. Good Luck

dear ---,

your daughter is still in a growing phase and is still physicaly maturing, so it will be very dificult for her to lose. I would start her off by doing, 1 mile in the morning, 1 mile in the evening. everyday! it would also be healthy for you. and also remember to tell her to never give up, and compliment her work. Good Luck!
