It depends on your built, if you are tall and 50kg.. you can probably fit in S or even XS...

But if you are on the petite side, then 50kg might be a M...

Actually 50kg for an adult is not heavy at all.

It depends on the body size (frame) and age too.

A 10 year old kid @ 50kg, that would be a size L.
However an Adult @ 50 kg would normally be M.

According to the conversion tables I found, you weigh 110+ pounds.
Just, exactly, where did you get the idea that this requires a large size?
You don't specify your height, so I have no idea if you're tall & too thin or really short & a bit tooo round.
