Could be seizures, which could be caused by a brain tumor. Both can cause the symptoms described as well as behavioral changes. I don't know a lot about neurontin, but I know it is an anticonvulsant used to treat partial or focal seizures in dogs. I haven't heard much good about it's success. There are other drugs that work better for seizures in dogs.
If you haven't already ask your vet for a referral to a neurologist to find the CAUSE of the seizures.

I have one word for you VETERINARIAN! What is wrong with you people! Your dogs can be near death, and you will risk a tip from an amateur on yahoo.answers? I sold a puppy once that developed some of the leg problems that you are describing, but guess what? I am a breeder, not a vet! The dog was able to be saved, by guess who a VET! I also had an IDIOT that tried to self heal their dog with human pills and vitamins,a nd guess what? He killed him! People that are that intellectually and financially irresponsible should not be able to own a dog or breed with another human for that matter! The same a$$hole that killed his dog with the meds, tried to buy another puppy from me later on, I refused and he ended up getting his a$$ kicked, as we were so pissed off at his flippant regard towards animals!

I had an older dogs that had this subject. Take your dogs to the vet at contemporary! The vet replaced into waiting to maintain my dogs yet as quickly as we had waited to any extent further he could have died. It replaced right into some years in the past and that i do no longer undergo in techniques each and each of the main factors however the dogs had to stay on the wellness center with an IV for some days.

That doesn't sound too good. Ask a vet's opinion. Somehow I don't think the dog is very comfortable.

Good luck!

You did not mention what type of dog you have or how old- Could possible be degenerate disc disease or a stroke? Please contact a vet ASAP.
