As a christian Jesus Christ is at the top of the list, but if you are talking popularity, probably more people know about Abraham than anyone else since Christians, Muslims and Jews all see Abraham as the starting figure of their own personal religions.

i don't know about the order, but i like abraham because his story is one of a personal relationship with god.
i like the tragic deciples of jesus because they were in a relationship with someone so complicated they couldn't fully understand him or live with the consequences of being affiliated with him. they broke and ran.
