Suggestion: Shut down the computer from the Windows start menu. When you see the screen that says it is now safe to turn off your computer, hit the power button.
Do not turn back on until Christmas 2007.

1)turn it off
2)pull the plug
3)pick up the monitor
4)throw it on the floor
5)pick up the computer itself
6)take it out the the garbage
now if you have already broke the monitor it doesn't matter that I am babbling on cause you can't see it anyway!
