Until you get your dog to a vet, use neosporin or bacitracin so it doesn't get infect.
And then get your dog to a vet.

I would highly recommend that you take your dog to the vet in the morning to assess the wound and to also have your dog get a rabies booster (unless you know the other dog is current on it's rabies shot). Plus if the laceration is in need of a suture or two the vet will be able to do that.
For home care for now, I would just use antibacterial soap if the wound is not in the eye itself.

If the cut is severe enough for you to be concerned with any kind of treatment, then you need to take your dog to the vet! You have no idea what damage there could actually be, nor do you know if this other dog has had all of it's shots, etc.!

Peroxide will stop it from healing, it is okay to use once to clean it but don't continue to use it. You can put Neosporin on the cut. Watch the eye and make certain that it doesn't swell and take it to the vet if it does. Hopefully your dog is current on his rabies shot. Good luck.

HI,, nini,,,,, if the cut or wound is not on the eye itself,,, you can put some triple antibiotic ointment on it.... not the whole tube,,, just a little.... that will cut down on infections....
your dog should be ok.... keep him pn a leash when he is out or put in a pen if you can....
good luck

if you have another dog you can trust around your dog, let the other dog lick the wound. dogs are remarkable about healing a wound with their saliva
