how can i stop my dogs from digging holes in the yard?

I agree with a previous post. The dog is bored. Why have him if hes just outside long enough to be digging holes. Dogs want to be active and social, not alone and bored.

Take him for some nice long walks so he gets tired and give him other things to do.

Dogs tend to sniff the area they are about to dig. I have found that black ground pepper sprinkled in the area is an effective way to deter the digging. If caught in the act a stern NO is also helpful.

Sometimes they dig because they are hot and want a cool place to lay. Sometimes the dig because they are bored. Sometimes they dig because they can hear the moles or gophers and are trying to catch them. Each one of these requires a different solution. Do you need more info? try to fill them when ur dogs arent looking cus if they see u fil them,. its turns into a game

wat i did was put bricks there-- i know.. awkward but she stoped digging those places.

another thing u can do is take them out on walks at least once a day-0- try to go for twice.

they dig becus it is in their nature but also becus they are very bored.

so give them something to do-- toys, or u.

make a designated digging spot in an our of sight area, and encourage them to dig there. or yeah just get a remote controlled shock collar and sit out there and shock them when they start digging.
