She's a week into crate training, and going outside when asked, however she still is going pee in her crate (she is really restricted in her crate so it isn't too big for her, she can barely turn around).. I've been off of work for a week, but tomorrow I got back.. I'm fearing I'm going to come home to a mess at my lunch hour tomorrow. thought puppies were supposed to eliminate where they slep and eat? What should I do? Should I place her blanket in the crate I'm not home? Will she be miserable if she pees when I'm not here, will it become a habit of hers since I can only take her out before work, my lunch hour and when I get home?

Chances are, the crate is too small. Your puppy/dog should only have enough room to turn around and lay COMFORTABLY.

Also...you might want to take her/him out to potty right before you put them in.

...oh...and feeding schedule would also help...feed your puppy on a schedule, it will help you control the times they have to use the bathroom.

From your post, you're doing good..coming home for lunch to let her out. Make sure she uses the bathroom BEFORE you put her back in the kennel.

How old is the puppy and how long have you had her? If she is a "week into crate training" has she been peeing in the crate the whole time? It sounds like either you are leaving the puppy in the crate for too long and she just has to go or maybe she has a urinary tract infection and hasn't control. See a vet.

From experience puppies learn really quickly to not go in their crate. Do you let her out immediately after she does it in her crate? It may take her being miserable for a couple of hours before she learns. It usually only takes once or twice.

They can't hold their bladder for more than 4 hours if they are under 14 weeks old. Put something absorbent in her cage so if she does go she won't sit in it for hours and get sores. If you are taking her out no less than every 4 hours it should be okay.
