They are not if you wear them often enough. If you leave them out for a while and your teeth move a little, than you have to pop the retainer back in. That stuff hurts.

I never had a problem with my retainer. The only time it would hurt is if I hadn't worn it in a few days.

I had one a long time ago. My mouth would ache a little when I tightened the retainer, but not bad and not for very long. Other than that no, it didn't hurt.

it depends on which retainers u have...if they are the clear ones...u wont sound as funny...the ones that mold to the top of ur mouth will make u sound funny until u get used to them...

no, ask for permanen retainers they are so much easier to deal with...

no. your mouth just gets kinda sore the first couple of days. dont worry though you get used to it.
helpful tip: wear it as much as you need. make sure you wear it if you need to. if you dont your mouth wont be perfect.

No, they don't hurt, but they are annoying.
You always have this ... thing ... in your mouth.
If your unlucky, you also get rubber bands to occasionally break.
