The main reason the minimum age was set to sixteen, is because you had to be sixteen to obtain a driver's license.
There's also the consideration, that young teenagers are entirely too immature. They are not even in highschool yet. They have no sense of responsibility or principle.
You know, the laws in some states are now requiring you to be eighteen to acquire a license. You're lucky they don't raise the working age as well.
My suggestion to you, is work for money from your family, or neighbors. You will learn a lot of valuable skills taking care of your home. Not only will they make your home more enjoyable to live in, but they will create good habits you can take with you when you own a home for yourself.
Psst ...also, the more your parents see you doing 'responsible' things on a day to day basis, the more they will trust you sooner and earlier. Which means you get to do neat things more like, borrow their car(S), throw a party, stay out later at night, goto concerts.

The society want you to concentrate on your schooling and enjoy your flowering early years in this suffering world. Yes, the family, the school and the government should try harder not to leave your beautiful years in this confusing state: you have to beg for money and to receive improper criticism.
But you can and you should express your feelings more gently and freely on this forum and on other mass media.
Wish so much to see all preteens to be really happy in order that they can grow up as good supporters of the coming generations of children, youth and adults.

ok managers at restaurants and other jobs want skilled people. not people who are immature and stupid. They don't want to loose business because of them. Preteens shouldn't work. period. their too young to understand anything, it's like why you can't drive. Cause if you drive at a young age, You speed and die.
Ever consider asking you parents to do chores around the house to make a few bucks?
and stop complaining, its part of growing up.

Nine, ten, eleven and twelve-year olds are too young to work. Period. They're too young to understand or appreciate the reponsibility that comes with a regular job. And they should be spending their time focusing on school, not on going to work.
I guarantee you'll understand when you're older. And speaking of which, clean up your language. Cursing is not cute at your age.

You need a job as a soap taster!
You are too young to use profanity or to be so money hungry. An attitude adjustment and some spelling lessons wouldn't hurt you either.

I think that if you look around, you can find a job. Go to the want ads in the Sunday paper where most of them are.

You need to clean up your language. If I was your father, I would give you a good spanking. You need to grow up and learn to respect those in authority. You have no idea what you are talking about.
