How could we tell? People can have faith in anything. And don't say Zeus is a myth because in the year 3,000 Jesus/God could be considered christian mythology.

We can't know. Simply put, you can't falsify one god, so that means that you can't claim to have empirical evidence of a true god, and also means that you can't test one god against another.
PS: The christian god is not real.
I guess I should expect to get hit by a thunderbolt any minute now.

Zeus is A god. There are people who still worship him and the other pagan gods. In fact, the number of these people who are rejecting the Middle Eastern Cult known as Christianity and returning to the true old ways are growing faster than the converts of any other religion. The god of the bible is only for the people it was written for, the Jews, that is implicitly stated numerous times. Look to your roots, research where your family came from or who you feel a closest bond with and return to your ancestors, who have been waiting for you all along.

See I have a hard time believing that Zeus is the actual supreme being because the people that followed him have completely fallen out of any position in society. Seems like the real supreme being would prevent that from happening to His followers.

eh I hope not, he'd be pretty pissed that the entire world (minus a few looneys) no longer believe in him... I'd be sending down lightening bolts on everyone, I don't exist THERE ZAM! BAM!! But see that's the difference between Zeus and the Christian God, Zeus had no problems mixing with mortales, talking to them, whatnot, (he had several offspring with mortales) but the Christian God, does not, nor does he feel it necessary to PROVE himself... convienant huh? Can't disprove a God that refuses to prove himself, because then he could just say, well I am GOD you must have FAITH, not proof! It would not be FAITH if you had PROOF!!! Eh whatever!

Personally, I think we can't. Just as some people have faith in religion, others have faith in evolution...after all its still a theory cos there are still some missing links from species to species.
And, we do know that the laws and theories of science change as new information is garnered. Just like recent changes to the Theory of relativity and even Newton's laws.
The key, I suppose, is not to stop questioning...

religion is just a way to control the masses. it controls all the nonfree thinkers in the world. the only difference between christianity and greek/roman mythology is the wide spread acceptance of the faith.
