Remember when all presidents were actually elected in America and not installed by fixing the polls and being appointed by the courts?

Remember when you could speak up against a currupt government without being called a traitor?

Remember when you could talk with friends and fmaily on the phone knowing nobody else listened in to your calls?

Remember when you traveled the world and people respected you when they found out you were an American?

Remember how safe our country used to be under democratic leadership and wars only happened as a last resort?

Remember when you could watch the news knowing it was NEWS not political propoganda ( Fox news / Republicans)

There are so many freedoms that are taken for granted and have been eliminated. BUT I do have good news. The November election is close and those freedoms I just mentioned will be revived. God bless a free and democratic America. God bless the democratic Party that protects those very RIGHTS

yes!!! I DO miss all the freedoms we USED to have in this country.. there was a time that I actually felt PROUD to be an American. with all these rights being flushed down the toilet and having parties like the Republican party control the outcome of something as precious as my right to vote, I could not help but feel despair. I hope you are correct with your last comment. I voted the last two times and I will DEFINITELY vote this time around. Hope the votes aren't discarded as they seemed to have been this last time during presidential elections...

and I shall reiterate:
God bless a free and democratic America. God bless the democratic Party that protects those very RIGHTS

I am not American, I post many questions and answers that probably makes people think I am anti-American.
But believe me, I remember those times which was not long ago.
I remember watching Hollywood movies without a bitter smile on my face.
I do remember !
I remember those times when the Americans I met did not have such suspicions about my country: Turkey, which is as secular as any other western country.
I remember those days, Turkey itself was not ruled by the present "liberal Muslims" recently supported by Bush administration so much. I remember when Turkey was not automatically defined as a Muslim+country.
And I SINCERELY miss those good old days.

Korea and Vietnam were last resorts? Are you kidding?
Fox news? Are there not like 100 other news outlets?
Yes, elect the Democratic Party and they will turn French on us. We are so sorry, we will give you what you want, just like us, please.

If the Democrats really were that good, they would tell us their good ideas and what they would do differently, and they would easily win a large majority. Unfortunately, all they do is gripe about what other people do.
